About Us

Saratoga Clay Arts Center was founded in 2011 by Jill Fishon-Kovachick, a life-long clay artist, dedicated to bringing forth an exceptional facility for all those interested in working with clay. SCAC is a regional clay arts center located in upstate New York just 8 miles from the resort city of Saratoga Springs. SCAC’s goal is to promote ceramic arts and to provide a place for people to work in clay at all levels, learn to hone and develop their skills and create a community focused on collaboration with faculty, visiting clay artists and students.
The 13,000 SF facility is home to 30 clay artists and includes private and shared studio space, a large classroom, glaze room, kiln room and the Schacht Gallery. Gallery exhibitions feature work of local, regional, national and international clay artists on a rotating basis. Classes are offered to adults and children at all levels. Workshops are held on a regular basis year-round and participants have traveled from as far away as Hawaii, California and Florida.
