Motor Coach Bus Driver-Competitive Pay and Benefits

Trailways of New York, a prominent family-owned intercity bus company established in 1926, is currently seeking dedicated and responsible Coach Bus Drivers based out of the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Manhattan, New York City.

As a Coach Bus Driver, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service while transporting our passengers along designated routes for safe and timely departures and arrivals throughout New York State, into Montreal and Toronto in Canada and Detroit, Michigan.

 

The preferred candidate has:

• A strong commitment to safety, punctuality and professionalism while operating their vehicle.
• A passion for customer service and excellent communication skills.
• More than one year of experience driving a Motor Coach, School Bus (preferred) or commercial vehicle.
• A valid Class A or B commercial driver's license with an acceptable driving history.
• An unrestricted Passenger endorsement. (ability to transport 16 passengers or more).
• A valid passport or enhanced driver's license for travel to Canada (preferred but not required).
• The ability to complete a 6-week training program that will require being away from home Monday-Friday.
• The ability to work a 5-or 6-day work week, (Full-Time) with open availability during those days must include nights, weekends, holidays and occasional overnight trips.
• The ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check and DOT physical exam.
• The love of driving and the willingness to travel throughout New York State and to Montreal and Toronto, Canada.

Our story began in 1926, with the purchase of a single bus in Buffalo NY, and the creation of the Rip Van Winkle Bus Company. This business has grown to become the well-known Adirondack Trailways bus company. Almost a century of continued growth has incorporated the Pine Hill-Kingston Bus Corporation as Pine Hill Trailways and Empire Trailways of Rochester, NY as New York Trailways. All three companies are still owned by the Berardi/Van Gonsic families and comprise the Trailways of New York brand.
