Day Services Instructor

We are looking for someone with Direct Support Professional experience who's ready for the next step in their career. Do you have experience in Day Hab? Here's a great growth opportunity for someone with a year of experience working with people with a developmental disability, in day services, preferably in OPWDD services.

This Ballston Spa position is a Monday through Friday 35 hour a week schedule and you'll be home in time for dinner. You'll be working with your classroom team to provide experiences in the community such as volunteering at Meals on Wheels, visiting local historic sites, or visiting the library. There will be opportunities to participate in art projects, Thursday's pizza lunch, or classroom games.

In the classroom you will:

  • Run & document daily goals for the people you are working with
  • Develop Day Habilitation Goals and ensure they are implemented correctly and documented in a timely manner
  • Provide hands on support to the people your program supports, including teaching new skills, assisting with toileting, bathing, dressing and other activities of daily living.
  • Help other employees learn and be a great DSP

The starting payrate for those with a high school diploma is $17.35 to $19.10 an hour. For those with a bachelor's degree in a human services field, the starting pay range is $18.35 to $20.10 an hour. Education Required - High School or better.

Preferred Bachelors or better in Human Services.

Experience Preferred

One year of experience working with people with developmental disabilities in a Day Hab and bachelor's degree in human services or related field.
One year of experience working with people with developmental disabilities in a Day Hab and a high school diploma.

Required - Driver's License
