About The Speakers:
Ann Dejnozka is a professional fundraiser with more than 30 years of experience serving organizations in the Capital Region. She has managed many elements of a Philanthropy Program, including Annual Fund, Leadership Gift programs, Capital Campaigns, Planned Giving programs, volunteer programs and special events. Her work in Development began in 1994 serving on the Advancement team at her alma mater, Siena College, and then in 1999, transitioning to Albany Medical Center, serving as Associate Vice President of the Capital Campaign. After completing that campaign, in 2005, Ann joined the team at Skidmore College, and for 13 years, served as Executive Director of Family Leadership Giving, overseeing Philanthropy, Volunteerism and Communication programs for Skidmore parents. In July of 2018, Ann became Head of Advancement at Emma Willard School in Troy, NY. She is an active volunteer in the community, having served as a member of the Board of Associate Trustees at Siena College, a volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House Charities, and with the American Cancer Society, Saratoga ArtsFest and St. Clement’s Regional Catholic School. She is a proud graduate of the Leadership Saratoga Program, Class of 2016. Ann received her BS in Accounting from Siena College and MA in Organizational Communication from University at Albany. She resides in Saratoga Springs with her husband, Mark, and their two children.
Mary Solomons has been in the advancement field for more than 30 years, initially in the alumnae office of her alma mater, Wellesley College (1987-1995). From interactive events to personalized donor outreach, she is known for instilling an inventive and innovative twist to the task at hand. Her creativity shines when it comes to events, and she’s produced everything from highly focused, intimate donor events to large scale projects such as Skidmore College’s Bold Promise on-campus Campaign Celebration. Overseeing a working group of more than 20 community members from across college departments for a period of 18 months, Mary was point-person for the four-day celebration including eight distinct programs ranging in size from 50 to 600 individuals. Other special event management included the annual NYC leadership dinner for several hundred, building groundbreaking and dedication events, and the annual scholarship fundraising gala for 500+ guests. Mary is known for making these events memorable, from the invitation to the program to the follow-up outreach.
Mary is a frequent conference speaker who has been active with the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), the Association for Donor Relations Professionals (ADRP), and Academic Impressions. She served on the Board of Directors of the Association of Donor Relations Professionals (ADRP) from 2008-13 and received the volunteer of the year award from them in 2012. In 2021 Mary was recognized as a Woman of Influence by Saratoga TODAY. Most recently, Mary was Executive Director of the Saratoga Hospital Foundation (2020-23), following positions in the advancement offices at Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (2019-2020) and Skidmore College (1995-2019).
