SUMMARY:Saratoga Springs Good Scout Award Dinner
DESCRIPTION:The 2015 Saratoga Springs Good Scout Award will be presented to Linda Baker\, Ph.D.\, at a dinner on Thursday\, April 30\, 2015 at the Downtown Saratoga Holiday Inn on Broadway. The event begins with a social hour at 6 p.m.\, followed by dinner and a short program at 7 p.m. Helping our youth develop the values of character\, leadership\, and service while having fun and adventure is as important today as it was when the Boy Scouts of America was founded over 100 years ago. To recognize individuals or organizations that exemplify the ideals of Scouting and demonstrate outstanding community service\, the Twin Rivers Council has established the Good Scout Award. Linda Baker\, this year's recipient\, has a long history of community service. Currently\, she serves as board chair for the Wilton Wildlife Preserve & Park\, as community chair of Greater Saratoga Area Girl Scouts and director of GSNENY's Girl Scout Training Academy\, and as a Boy Scout volunteer locally\, regionally\, and nationally. New for this event will be recognition of an Honorary Committee of individuals who care strongly about Scouting and want to honor Linda's lasting impact on the greater Saratoga Springs community. We invite you to be a part of the Honorary Committee to be listed on the dinner program. While we hope you are able to attend the dinner\, Honorary Committee members do not need to be present to support the event. In addition to the new Honorary Committee\, this year's event will include a silent auction for the first time. We welcome your contribution to the auction. Proceeds from this event benefit the Saratoga District of the Twin Rivers Council\, which serves over 2\,000 young people through Cub Scout\, Boy Scout\, Venturing and Exploring programs. We hope that you will join us to further our important mission of bringing the benefits of scouting to all corners of our service area.
