SUMMARY:Saratoga County Chamber Awards Night
DESCRIPTION:With the pandemic\, the Saratoga County Chamber went remote for all events\, as many companies experienced\, and was not able to gather together to celebrate our Annual Dinner for 2021 this past January. Although we were unable to celebrate our annual dinner\, we could not bypass the recognition of some of our greatest assets in this community... our silent leaders of volunteerism and community service! This year\, in partnership with Caffe Lena\, the Saratoga County Chamber will be broadcasting our Awards Ceremony on April 22nd\, at 7pm.\n\n\n\nThe Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that Julie Stokes has been selected to receive the 2021 Joseph Dalton Community Service Award. \n\nThis award was created in 2018 as part of the Chamber's Centennial celebration. This award honors an individual\, like Julie Stokes\, for championing impactful and significant local community improvement efforts for a minimum of 25 years across all of Saratoga County. Past recipients include: Steve Sullivan\, Tom Roohan\, and John Munter\, Sr. \n\nThe award is named for the Chamber's former President\, Joe Dalton\, who led the Chamber from 1970 to 2020. \n\n\n\nWe're excited to announce that Ellen Sax has been selected to receive the 2020 Saratoga County Impact Sector Volunteer of the Year Award. In 2021\, a group of local impact sector leaders approached the Chamber about creating a new Volunteer of the Year program. The idea was that so many individuals had stepped forward during the pandemic\, in 2020\, to do more than ever before to help local nonprofits facing significant challenges of their own and increased need for their services. If we were ever to create such an award\, this was the year to do it. We agreed. Nominations were sought from our Impact Sector Council of individuals who volunteered in 2020 to help with a wide range of needs.
