DESCRIPTION:Following a brief presentation on the history of the Common Core concept\, we will hear first from a panel of educators discussing the current situation with Common Core\, followed by a discussion of what the future steps will be. Panelists are Jay Worona\, Deputy Executive Director and General Counsel for the NYS School Board Association\, Dr.John Yagielski\, School District Superintendent\, Maria Neira\, Past Vice President\, NYS United Teachers\, Bi-lingual teacher and Mary Boyd Ratzer\, Librarian\, teacher trainer\, educational author. Following the discussion there will be a question and answer session. The LWV Saratoga believes this is a topic which should be of interest to educators\, community leaders\, and parents as we examine what the future holds for this program.
