DESCRIPTION:To register\, or for more information\, please visit http://www.saratogalionsduathlon.com/ \n\n\n\n \nThe Saratoga Springs Lions Duathlon\n\nThis popular Saratoga Springs\, Memorial Day Event\, began as a fundraising idea to help participants train for triathlon races\, while also hosting a community and amateur event that would bring families\, friends and businesses together for a challenging athletic event.\n\nHelping People See\,  Helping People Hear\, Fighting Diabetes\, Developing Youth & Our Community\n\nImportantly\, from a fundraising standpoint\, the event has been a tremendous success in helping The Saratoga Springs Lions Club Foundation make significant contributions to major projects and initiatives related to sight & hearing\, community projects and scholastic scholarships.  Specific beneficiaries of the Lions major financial support include The Lions Eye Institute located in Albany and the Saratoga Springs Community Health Center initiative by Saratoga Hospital.\n\nWhat is a Duathlon?\n\nOur duathlon is a three stage race focused on running and biking and helps prepare participants for future triathlon races.  Our format is a 5K run followed by a 30K bike and an additional 5K run. The Lions Duathlon Experience is designed to allow for many levels of participation including family and business teams where members do the running or biking or any combination of male or female.\n\nCorporate and Small Business Team Challenge\n\nWe invite you and challenge you to help us change lives.  Put together a three-person team and help us in our mission to ensure people see the world and hear its sounds.  We also fight diabetes and help our youth through community projects.  In addition\, you will get exposure for your business   the winners will get their logo on the duathlon web page for the next year as well as exposure through our social media outlets and our e-newsletter.  We have a category for large companies and one for small businesses too (less than 50 employees).
