DESCRIPTION:zombie 5k in support of Special Olympics Individuals can participate as either runners or\nzombies. Each runner will start\noff with a belt and three flags. These flags represent runner lifelines.\nZombies hidden throughout the course will be attempting to take their lifelines\none at a time. If a runner finishes the race with at least one flag\, they’ve survived\, but\nif zombies have taken all of a runner’s flags\, the runner can still\ncomplete the race\, but they will not be eligible for awards.\n\n \n\nALL AGES WELCOME!\n\n \n\n Runners can sign up as individuals or as\nteams. Running races not your thing? Be a zombie! Each zombie will be\ntransformed in our "Mob Tent" the day of the event from 7:30am-9am.Every\nvolunteer will receive access to the course and other race day festivities\, an\nofficial rUNdead day t-shirt\, and the thrill of running for their lives!\n\n \n\nFor over 43 years\, Special\nOlympics New York has been providing year-round athletic training and\ncompetition for over 55\,000 people with intellectual disabilities. Special\nOlympics provides them with the opportunity to demonstrate their skills\,\nsportsmanship and victories. Not only do\nthe athletes and their families benefit from involvement in Special Olympics\,\nbut the entire community experiences a certain pride in the athlete’s\nachievements. Special Olympics is\ndedicated to promoting respect\,\nacceptance\, inclusion and human dignity for people with intellectual\ndisabilities through sports.
